The EMT program will provide students with the required knowledge and skills to meet all National Registry and Connecticut requirements and upon successful completion of the course, students will be eligible to take the National Registry exam.

The course requires an extensive amount of reading and comprehension.  Classes require 150 hours or training along with additional observation time with Norwalk Hospital.

As an EMT you will be prepared to respond to medical emergencies, assess ill and injured individuals, administer life saving interventions and transport patients to the hospital.

There are exams each class on the material.  You will need a minimum 70% average on all exams to be able to sit for the state and national exams.

WVAC is not currently offering an EMT class, but classes are being offered at nearby services.  It does not matter where you take your class in order to join WVAC.  WVAC will reimburse you for your class if you become a member and remain a member in good standing for one year.
