Ivy Sun

Meet Ivy, an apprentice with WVAC who’s currently a high school senior! Ivy has lived in Wilton for most of her life and now attends high school in New Haven. She got involved with WVAC in 2023 after completing an Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) training course. Ivy is interested in pursuing a career in medicine and was looking for a way to get real-world experience. She says volunteering with WVAC has increased her interest in a career in Wilton.

To her fellow high school students, Ivy tells them get involved and take a class! She says it’s been a great experience.

High school and college apprentices represent a critical part of WVAC’s volunteers. High school students who are 16+ can join WVAC as apprentices where they can learn and participate after obtaining their EMS certification.
